First I applied a Diffuse Glow Filter (Filter>Distort>Diffuse Glow) with the following settings: Graininess: 5 Glow Amount: 8 Clear Amount: 11 Then I applied a New Channel Mixer Adjustment Layer (Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Channel Mixer) with the following settings: 100% Red Monochrome Selected. Then I applied a New Levels Adjustment Layer (Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Levels) and pulled in the left slider or shortened the color level range. This is trickiest step; first we created a new blank layer over the other layers. Then I took a paintbrush with a low opacity and carefully painted the blue waterfall on the new blank layer.
Katrina, I am drawn to the deep blue of the waterfall (the only color in this monochromatic piece)The trees in the foreground look very artificial with their colorless leaves; the overall effect feels very cold to me almost like a “winter version” of “spring”.
ReplyDeleteThe color palette is very cool, it reminds me of iciness. It makes a very interesting picture.
ReplyDeletei love this photo just because there is so much to this photo but it draws you to the water instead of you looking at anything else.
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely replicate this with a really large waterfall. It would be great to follow the long path of the water with this effect and the capturing the bottom pool splashing all around. Nice work!
ReplyDeletei want a larger waterfall but i have not found a picture that would work well yet. still hoping to find the perfect picture.
